Taobao agent for the US
What it actually takes to get something from Taobao, Weidian or 1688 to an address in the US — the lines that run today, what they refuse to carry, and the parts we genuinely cannot predict.
If you are in the US and you have found something on Taobao, Weidian or 1688, the problem is rarely the item. It is that those sellers are set up for buyers inside mainland China: they quote domestic shipping and expect a mainland payment method. A proxy buyer closes that gap. We place the order in China, receive the parcel at our warehouse in China, photograph what turned up, and then forward it to you.

Nothing on this page is a stored rate card, and nothing here is a delivery promise from us — where a number comes from the carrier, we say so.

What happens to the price as the parcel gets heavier
Same lines, quoted at three weights. This matters more than the headline price, because the cheapest line at 1 kg is not always the cheapest at 3 kg — and some lines stop quoting altogether once a parcel passes their limit. A dash means that line returned no quote for that weight.

They cover international shipping only — the item price and the DogeGoo service fee are charged separately, and the binding figure is the one shown when a real, packed parcel is weighed.
Check your own parcel to the US
Destination is fixed to the US. Set the weight and, importantly, tick the item types — your whole combination is what decides whether a line will accept your parcel at all. Lines that refuse it are shown too, with the carrier's own reason.
What the lines to the US will not carry
This is where most first orders go wrong, and it is worth two minutes before you buy rather than an argument after the goods are already sitting in our warehouse. International lines out of China classify parcels by what is inside them, not by what you paid. The categories that cause trouble are the same ones every time:
- Anything with a battery in it. Light-up figures, LED keychains, electric fans, anything sold as rechargeable. Built-in batteries and separately packed batteries are treated differently, and both are restricted on most lines.
- Magnets. Magnetic clasps on ita bags, magnetic acrylic stands, speaker units. Some lines take magnetic goods and some refuse them outright, so this one genuinely varies line by line.
- Liquids, powders and pastes. Nail polish, perfume, cosmetics, liquid aromatherapy, sealed drinks. Volume thresholds exist and differ per category.
- Flammable goods. Aerosols, lighters, solvent-based products.
We are not printing a fixed allow/deny table here, and that is deliberate: these rules are set per line and per destination and they move. Instead, use the checker above — pick the item type that matches what you are buying, press the button, and any line that refuses it comes back marked Not available with the carrier's own wording. If every line refuses, that is your answer before you have spent anything.
One practical consequence: a single restricted item can block an entire consolidated parcel. If you are bundling a haul and one piece has a battery in it, the usual fix is to ship that piece separately, or leave it out. Better to find that out here than at the point where you are trying to submit the parcel.
Customs and import tax in the US
We are going to be blunt about this section, because it is the one where proxy sites most often invent numbers. Import duty and tax on your parcel are decided by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), not by us. They depend on the declared value, the category of goods, and rules that change without reference to anything on our side. We cannot predict them, we cannot quote them, and we are not going to guess at a percentage on this page. But for the US there is one piece of mechanism you should know before you order, because it changed recently and most older guides still describe the old world.
For years, most parcels valued at US$800 or less entered the US duty-free under the "de minimis" exemption — the rule that made small overseas hauls feel tax-free. That channel is currently closed. Executive Order 14324 (signed 30 July 2025) suspended duty-free de minimis treatment for shipments from all countries with effect from 29 August 2025, and CBP rules published in the Federal Register on 24 June 2026 made the suspension indefinite — one rule for non-postal shipments and a companion rule for mail shipments, so it applies whether your parcel travels on a courier line or through the postal network. In practice: plan on your parcel entering the US as a declared shipment on which duties can be assessed, and do not build an order around a duty-free threshold that no longer operates. What the assessment comes to is exactly the part we cannot predict — it depends on classification and origin rules that move outside our control — so we are not putting a percentage here.
What we can tell you, because it comes from the carriers themselves and is fetched live: some of the lines quoting for the US today carry the carrier's own "Tax included" tag — currently 3 of the 6 lines above (US-P-Y, US-F-Y, US-MG-Y). On those lines the carrier's price already covers destination-side tax handling; where the tag is absent, destination-side charges, if any arise, are yours to settle with customs or the delivering courier. Given the de minimis suspension, that tag is worth more attention for the US than it used to be — it is the difference between a price that is final and a price that may grow after arrival.

How paying works from the US
Payment is split into two stages, and this is the part that confuses people more than the prices do.
- When you order, you pay for the items themselves and their domestic shipping inside China to our warehouse. Items are bought at the seller's price; the DogeGoo service charge is shown to you before you pay it.
- After the goods arrive at our warehouse and have been photographed, you decide which items to send, submit them as a parcel, and choose an international line from the real prices returned for the US. Only then do you pay for international shipping. Nothing is charged for shipping before you pick a line.
We are not listing payment methods on this page. The methods open to you are the ones shown in your own checkout window, they vary, and a hardcoded list here would go stale and mislead someone. Getting the parcel, and what to check before it leaves China
Every item is photographed at our China warehouse when it lands there, and those photos sit on your warehouse page. Look at them properly. Colour, print quality, stitching, the size of an acrylic stand versus what the listing implied — all of it is far easier to deal with while the goods are still in China than after they have crossed an ocean. Sending something back from the US is rarely worth the freight.
Nothing leaves China until you tick the items and submit a parcel yourself, so the timing is in your hands. After dispatch, the first carrier scan does not always appear immediately, and cheaper economy lines can stay quiet for a while before they update again. Some lines say so explicitly in their own terms — open Details on a line in the checker above and read what the carrier itself says about tracking, insurance and compensation. Some of the cheapest lines state plainly that they carry no free insurance and no compensation for lost parcels. That is the carrier's language, not ours, and it is worth reading before you pick a line for something expensive.
What we can't tell you
A page like this is easy to pad with confident numbers. Here is what we do not have, stated openly so you can weigh it:
- How many days it will actually take to reach you. We show each carrier's own stated range and nothing more. We do not hold delivery-time data of our own for the US, and customs clearance is outside our control, so any single "usually X days" figure would be invented.
- What customs will charge you. See above: the de minimis suspension tells you the duty-free shortcut is closed, but the actual assessment on your parcel is not ours to decide or estimate.
- Which payment methods will show up for your account. Shown at checkout; varies.
- A fixed rate card. There isn't one. Rates come from the carriers, per weight, per line, live.
If a competing page gives you a precise delivery time and a precise duty figure for the US, ask where the numbers came from.
FAQ
Can I buy from Taobao if I live in the US?
Not directly, and that is what a proxy buyer is for. Sellers on Taobao, Weidian and 1688 are set up for buyers inside mainland China. How much is Taobao shipping to the USA?
There is no flat rate, and any page quoting one is guessing. Shipping is charged by chargeable weight on the line you pick, so the honest answer is the live table on this page: it shows every line our forwarding partners are quoting for a parcel to the US right now, at three anchor weights, with each carrier's own stated transit range. Will I pay tariffs or customs charges on a Taobao order shipped to the US?
Assume your parcel enters as a declared, dutiable shipment. The old US$800 "de minimis" duty-free channel for small parcels is currently suspended: Executive Order 14324 suspended duty-free de minimis treatment for shipments from all countries effective 29 August 2025, and CBP rules published in the Federal Register on 24 June 2026 made that suspension indefinite. What you would actually pay is decided by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) based on declared value and classification — we cannot predict it and will not invent a percentage. The one concrete, current thing we can show you is which lines carry the carrier's own "Tax included" tag: that tag appears in the live results on this page whenever a line includes destination-side tax in its price, and where it is absent, destination charges are yours to settle.
How long does delivery to the US take?
Each line publishes its own transit range and we show that range exactly as the carrier states it. We deliberately do not print a single "usually X days" figure for the US, because we have no delivery-time data of our own to back one up, and customs clearance sits outside anything we control. Treat the carrier range as the carrier's own estimate, not as a promise from us.
Can you ship items with batteries, magnets or liquids?
It depends on the line, and the honest answer is that many of them refuse. Set the item type in the calculator on this page to match what you are actually buying — for example a toy with a built-in battery, or a magnetic item — and press Estimate. Lines that will not carry it come back marked unavailable, with the carrier's own reason attached. That check takes five seconds and is far more reliable than any list we could write here, because the rules change per line and per destination.
How do I pay, and when?
Payment happens in two stages. First you pay for the items themselves plus their China-domestic shipping to our warehouse. International shipping is paid later — after your things have arrived, been photographed, and you have picked which ones to send and on which line. Nothing is charged for international shipping until you choose a line. The payment methods open to you are the ones shown in your own checkout window; we do not list them on this page because availability differs by account and country, and a stale list would be worse than none.
Is it cheaper to consolidate several orders into one parcel?
Usually yes, and it is the single biggest lever you control. Items bought from different shops sit together at our China warehouse and go out as one parcel, so international shipping is paid once instead of once per shop. The trade-off is weight: as the combined parcel gets heavier, some cheaper lines stop being available at all. Run your expected total weight through the calculator before you decide how much to bundle.
What do you photograph before shipping?
Every item is photographed at our China warehouse when it arrives, and the photos sit on your warehouse page. That is your chance to check colour, size, print quality and obvious authenticity problems while the goods are still in China — which matters more when the parcel is heading overseas, because sending something back from abroad is rarely worth it.
